Plaza Inn Disneyland character dining is one of my favorite experiences whenever I visit Disneyland. Minnie Mouse hosts this breakfast extravaganza and has invited a bunch of her friends to the party! Reservations are often pretty easy to snag, the buffet is reasonably priced (by Disney standards) and the characters are great! This buffet by far has the largest amount of characters for you to meet. This is why I continue to book it again and again. You never know who you may encounter! I’ve always been a huge fan of character dining and believe Disney fans of any age can make a reservation to meet Disney friends!
For our most recent trip, we naturally had to stop by and load up our plates before we began our day. Here is my review of the Plaza Inn character dining!
The Food
You guys know me – I’m NEVER going to complain about breakfast food. At the Plaza Inn you can find all your classic breakfast fare. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, breakfast cereals and more are all available, and there is an omelette station as well. Don’t forget to stop by and get a classic Mickey waffle! Depending on the time of year you may find some special breakfast items waiting for you – we went near Valentine’s Day and found strawberry chocolate chip Mickey waffles! I was in heaven!
Pricing
For the breakfast buffet, it’s a little bit pricier than some other breakfast options (since it’s character dining) but still very reasonable by Disney standards. For kids the buffet is about $15, and for adults it’s about $35 per person. You pay at the start of your meal so you’re free to leave as soon as you get your picture and meet your fill of the characters!
Characters
Now to my favorite part – the characters! Each time we have been to the Plaza Inn, we have met upwards of 6 characters per meal. This is higher than your average character dining meal. Additionally, the range of characters you can meet at this experience is more than the other restaurants. For example, at most restaurants you can only meet Mickey and friends – not the case here! Most days, you can find Chip and Dale, Max Goof, Winnie the Pooh and friends, and a few other characters in addition to your first meet and greet with Minnie. The last time we went, Captain Hook and the Fairy Godmother were wandering around. However, I’ve also seen Alice and Peter Pan at other visits!
Just like most dining experiences, you get a picture taken with Minnie upon arrival. The pictures are an extra charge unless you have Maxpass, which is like the Disneyland equivalent of Memory Maker (all your pictures are included in your purchase from Photopass and ride attractions). Simply let the cast member know when they bring you your picture that you have a Maxpass account to link it to.
