Liberty Tree Tavern Dining Review

November 22, 2018      Leave a Comment

Liberty Tree Tavern has been one of my family’s favorite Disney restaurants for years. Years ago, you used to be able to dine with Mickey and friends dressed in colonial garb. While that adorable feature is long gone, the food is still delicious and not to be missed. Since it is not character dining or one of the more popular restaurants, reservations are usually easier to come by than other restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. Just because it isn’t popular doesn’t mean it isn’t worth a stop! If family style comfort food sounds good to you, you have to check it out.

Reservations are available for lunch and dinner, and during the holiday season they have special meals! Here is everything you need to know about Liberty Tree Tavern, and all the reasons you should definitely set aside some dining credits for this unique dining experience!

Theming

Just like the rest of Liberty Square, the Liberty Tree Tavern is themed around Colonial America. Each room is actually modeled after one of the founding fathers! See if you can find all the hidden Easter eggs that are subtle shout outs to George Washington, Betsy Ross, and more figures in American history.

Along with the theme, all the food is “classic” American food. Roast beef, vegetables, potatoes and cornbread are all some of the items you can find on the menu. The homey, cozy feel of the food and decor definitely makes you feel like you never left your Thanksgiving feast!

Food

Lunch and dinner are two very different affairs at Liberty Tree Tavern. For lunch, you can get family style food served with the “Patriot’s Platter” option. If you’re not looking to stuff your face in the middle of the day, that’s ok! They also have a set menu with entrees you can order.

For dinner, the only option is the family style Patriot’s Platter. Head to dinner with a large appetite – the food is GREAT and you’ll be filling your plate many times throughout the evening! Their roast beef is amazing, as is the macaroni and cheese. It’s not a true American meal without macaroni and cheese!

Don’t worry about having to share – they’ll continue to bring out plates of food if you ask! The toffee cake for dessert is also absolutely delicious, and one of my favorite Disney desserts. The kid in me also loves the Patriot’s Slush – a frozen blend of apple and cherry juices.

Special Events

If you’re going to be at Liberty Tree Tavern for the holidays, you’re in luck! They offer a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, complete with all the fixings. Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and more will make you feel like you’re at home in the middle of the Happiest Place on Earth. If you’re looking to do this meal, be sure you book your reservation as soon as possible! It books up fast!

Pricing and Dining Plan

If you’re paying out of pocket, expect to shell out some big bucks, especially for the holiday feasts. Disney gives it three dollar signs, meaning meals range from $40-$60 per adult. However, if you have the Dining Plan, you’re in for a sweet deal! Lunch and dinner both count as 1 table service credit per person. Check out my guide on the Disney Dining Plan here, as it’s an amazing money saver and something I recommend for everyone!

Liberty Tree Tavern doesn’t get enough love, period. I always like to make a stop for lunch or dinner during our visits, and I recommend you check it out on your next visit. Stay hungry, patriots!
