While Disney is known mostly for family fun, that doesn’t mean you can find fun things to do with your significant other! If you’re a younger couple, or a parenting duo who finally got a day away from the kids, there’s plenty to do at the Magic Kingdom. Many of these activities just doesn’t have the same feel unless you’re with the one you love. Aside from the normal activities like dining out and riding rides, there’s plenty to do with just the two of you!
Check out these fun, unique ideas of how to spend your day together at the Magic Kingdom. No, you don’t have to wear the matching shirts, although there’s a ton available if you’re into that sort of thing! It’ll probably be the most expensive date ever – but definitely one of the most memorable! 😉

Challenge Each Other to a Game of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Light’s Space Ranger Spin is a one of a kind ride where you hop in your ride vehicle and get to shoot at aliens and the Evil Emperor Zurg. Just like Buzz himself! What makes this ride so fun, aside from being an original concept when it first opened, is the fact that you can keep track of your points. With each shot, your points are tallied on your ride vehicle.
You and your date will have a blast competing against each other. Can you reach the ranking of Galactic Hero? It’s 900,000 points, so start practicing! Maybe make it a best of three competition??
This ride also features an on ride photo, usually taken when you’re in the heat of battle and making some great faces. Be sure you grab it with your Memory Maker so you can frame it later and have an awesome memento from your galactic adventure!
Sip Coffee on the Hub Grass
Did you know there’s a Starbucks on Main Street USA? Take a break from the crowds and grab a caramel macchiato, and then have a seat in the Hub Grass and relax a bit. It’s an Instagram hot spot, but also a fun place to just sit and catch up with each other. Perhaps you can do some people watching at the same time!
The Hub is the area right in front of the castle, and also an amazing spot to watch parades or fireworks from. Speaking of fireworks…
Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party
Everyone loves fireworks, but who wants to push their way through a crowd to get a good spot for viewing? Forget that! Instead, check out the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party for viewing “Happily Ever AFter” at the Magic Kingdom. The “kiss goodnight” as Walt called it, the fireworks show is a Disney parks staple. What is more romantic than watching the latest firework show from your own private viewing area? Not only that – but you’ll be feasting on delectable desserts as you do so!
Unfortunately, you cannot use the Dining plan for your dessert party. However, if finances are a concern, there are multiple dessert parties you can choose from in Tomorrowland with a wide price range. If you want to be SITTING and feasting, that’s the most expensive option. Standing is a bit less expensive. Check out all the options here! Any of them will be a one of a kind experience that tops off a great date at the Magic Kingdom!
Get Caricatures
Did you know that tucked in Liberty Square there’s a studio that will make caricatures of you? Yes, in Liberty Square you can find artists who will make caricatures, full portraits or silhouettes of you and your date while you wait. The Liberty Square Portrait Gallery is near The Hall of Presidents and a definite must hit spot if you’re having date night at the Kingdom. These are a fun and unique souvenir, and if you’re worried about the caricature artist being too mean to your portrait, remember – you’re in Disney! It won’t be THAT bad! After you receive your portraits, you’ll have a ton of fun picking out all the details of the drawing the artist managed to capture on the two of you.
Even if you’re not with a date, this a great souvenir to take home especially when the kids are little. My parents got a couple of portraits of us throughout the years, and it’s fun to watch the progression of my sister and I as we grew!
Take a Ride on the People Mover
The People Mover is a cult classic for a good reason. There’s just something so relaxing about riding around on the TTA, listening to them page for Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow! Since there is never any line, you can ride it over and over if you want to! It’s perfect if you and your date need to just get off your feet, and if the aforementioned Dessert Party is out of your budget, you might want to try riding the TTA during the fireworks!
You should definitely ride this once during the day, and again at night. The view from above is amazing no matter what time of day ou ride, though, and the seats allow for plenty of room for you to cuddle up to your loved one!
