4 Things To Buy BEFORE Going to Disney – To Save Lots of $$

August 5, 2019      2 Comments

buy before going to Disney

Planning a Disney vacation can be stressful. It’s hard to make sure you remember everything – or get everything you need before you go. I have covered some items that you don’t think you might need (but definitely do) but today I’m tackling something a bit different. Today we’ll be talking about items you should definitely buy before heading to Disney. If you think “I’ll just wait until I get there” you’ll end up wasting tons of money. Disney isn’t called “The Most Expensive Place on Earth” for nothing!

Here are 4 items you may not think to purchase beforehand, but you definitely should. Buying these items will save you valuable cash in the long run!

Sunglasses – Two Pairs

Sunglasses are found all throughout Disney resort – but you won’t be getting any shades without paying a pretty penny. No matter what time of year you head to Disney, you’ll likely be in the sun. Keep your eyes protected with these adorable – and affordable – polarized sunglasses from Amazon. Don’t bring just one pair, though. Bring at LEAST two. This way, if one of your pairs breaks, you’ll have a backup. That way you won’t have to shell out tons of cash to replace them, or suffer through squinting at everyone through the rest of your trip!

Rain Ponchos

When you go to Disney, you have to be prepared for rain. Luckily, most Florida rain showers only last for an hour or so, but if you need to run across the park to make that next Fastpass, you need to be prepared! Disney sells ponchos in most of their gift shops – but unless you HAVE to have Mickey on your poncho, it’s best to purchase these ahead of time. You can get a 5 pack of ponchos on Amazon for less than 1 poncho in the park. They come in different colors as well so you can keep track of everyone in your party! Alternatively, if you purchase Disney ponchos, be sure to bring them with on your next trip! They’re pretty sturdy and will definitely last you a few trips if you take care of them.

Sun Hat

If you think you’d like to have a hat to block out some of the hot Florida sun on your trip – buy one beforehand and bring it just in case. Many of the hat options at Disney, while stylish, are usually upwards of $30 or more. These adorable sun hats, with various different summer themed sayings, will go with any Disney themed outfit you plan and keep you cool. Plus, this particular design folds up nicely in your suitcase without getting wrinkled, so you can fit it in your luggage. I have first hand experience with it and love it!

Water Bottle Fan

There’s lots of ways to keep cool at Walt Disney World, and one of the best ways to accomplish this is to use a misting fan water bottle. Disney has some really cute options, and we have purchased many through the years. However, you don’t need to pay for the Disney branding when your only goal is to stay cool. For a fraction of the price, you can get everyone their own colored misting fan water bottle from Amazon before you leave!

There you have it, folks! A quick list of 4 things to purchase before heading to Disney, to save you some money once you get there. If you forget these items and find yourself needing them…don’t be surprised when you see the prices on the receipt!
