We all know this sad fact to be true – traveling is NOT cheap. Especially traveling to my favorite place in the world, Disney. While I’ve written many posts about ways you can save money on Disney travel, sometimes even a few extra bucks here and there can make all the difference. Just think about it – 20 bucks could mean you get to buy that souvenir you were thinking of buying. Or maybe you can upgrade your seats on the plane to business class! When it comes to traveling, it’s true that every little bit helps.
These are three things I have personally used to get extra cash before a big trip. Not only have I had a bit of extra spending cash on my trips, I’ve actually managed to pay for my airline ticket to my upcoming trip to Vegas from all the money I’ve made on these apps! Check these out – they’re all free to start and sign up, and super lucrative if you put the time in to it!

Poshmark
You may have heard about the resale app Poshmark before, which is essentially eBay for clothes without the bidding part! You post your clothes, set a price, and then people can purchase them or make an offer. This app also allows you to “bundle” items from someone’s closet, so if you like multiple items from the same seller, you can purchase them all at once – often times, the seller has a discount on multiple item sales!
Poshmark takes a small amount of your earnings, so this is not a get rich quick scheme, however they DO cover the cost of shipping for you and provide a priority mailing label for you to use! So really you’re just paying for the shipping supplies. You can then use your earnings to shop on the site or get it deposited directly into your bank account! It was through Poshmark that I was able to pay for the down payment on my upcoming cruise in February. It took about a month of me constantly sharing my posts and resisting the urge to transfer my balance to my bank right away, but it certainly paid off!
In order to be successful in Poshmark you need to have multiple listings, follow people back who follow you, and share fellow people’s listings so they share yours. It’s good to share your own listings at least once a day as well to bump them to the top of your followers feeds. As you can see, I’ve sold everything from Disney scrub tops to LuLaRoe that I no longer wear. I list them pretty cheap which means they move fast – I prefer selling MANY items at a cheaper price point to really build up your balance quickly!
If you sign up and use my code “MAGRESK” when you sign up you’ll get 5 dollars off your first purchase! Talk about a win win!
eBates
eBates is a cash back rebate site that works at hundreds of online stores. The concept is super easy – shop online as you normally do, but active your eBates first. Then, you get a percentage back of whatever you spend! This is PERFECT if you’re an avid online shopper like me. They have tons of stores to chose from and most of them I guarantee you already shop at!
If you use Chrome, they have a fantastic extension that makes sure you NEVER miss cash back! If the site you’re browsing is compatible with eBates, a little notification pops up and reminds you to active eBates! Check out this screencap of the Sephora website:
I can click the activate button, shop as I normally do, and BOOM! Cash back is deposited in my account!
eBates pays you via Paypal every 4 months (quarterly). During the holidays, they often have BONUS cash back at stores. Sign up now and start reaping the rewards! If you sign up using my link, you’ll get an extra 10 dollars cash back after you spend 25 at any store! (if you’re like me, it’ll be NO problem to spend that much at Sephora!) And yes, they also have an app!
Ibotta
Ibotta is a great cash back app that you can use on grocery purchases at most major grocery stores. Simply go in to your Ibotta app and select which items you want to purchase. Then, when you go to the store, scan your receipt and watch the rebates pile up!
Ibotta won’t let you cash out until you met the 25 dollar minimum, but it’s super easy to hit that in just a few trips! Not only that, but many of the items they list on the site are usually on sale at the store OR have a coupon on that stores app. For example, many deals I have cashed out at Target have also had a corresponding Cartwheel offer, meaning I stack and double my savings!
Ibotta also has bonuses (for example, cash in X amount of offers in X amount of days to earn an extra 5 bucks) which help you earn money back FAST. They also offer rebates on generic items – it’s not as much as the brand name items, but they almost always have deals like “25 cents back on any package of cookies” that allow you to earn back on whatever brand you please.
It’s also similar to eBates in the sense that you can earn cash back on app purchases. Look at those offers at the top of the image below, it’s my favorite resale app Poshmark! You can also see examples of those bonuses I was talking about.
Sign up using my referral link and you’ll get a bonus 10 dollars back when you cash in your first offer! That gets you HALFWAY to the minimum amount you need to cash out your balance!
Using these apps, I have easily earned HUNDREDS of extra dollars just by doing purchasing things I normally would buy. And, naturally, that extra money I earn usually goes to DISNEY!
